For more than 30 years the art of folklore ensemble “Ozorniye Naigrishi” from Donetsk has made numerous listeners happy.  Founded in 1983, the ensemble is a constant participant of international festivals in Europe. This talented creative team has given multiple concert tours in Russia, Germany, the Netherlands, Cyprus, and they toured over Finland thrice.

The new concert program “Kozatske Rizdvo” (Cossacks’ Christmas) is based on a theatrical performance dedicated to the Christmas celebrations in Ukraine, which included the original Christmas koliadki and  shchedrivki - real gems of Ukrainian and Cossack folklore. With extraordinary power these carols reflect a diverse range of emotions, feelings and aspirations of the people on Christmas Eve - from profoundly lyrical to playful and cheerful mood.

The beautiful voices of singers and skills of musicians, a diversity of instrumental line-up of the ensemble, original costumes, unique interpretations of songs and peculiar choreography – contribute to the performance style which has concentrated history, culture and the fate of the people, their rich inner world, aspiration for freedom, a feeling for beauty.

The secret of the success of the ensemble “Ozorniye Naigrishi” is in their constant pursuit of for perfection, a huge love for folk songs, desire to bring their beauty to the spectators.
